Curatorial Activities

@. This juried exhibition of new-media art was held in conjunction with the New Media Caucus and the 2009 College Art Association Conference in Los Angeles. It featured video,
installation, and Second Life art. The show opened and ran concurrently at the Southern California Institute for Architecture and Ars Virtua, an art gallery
in the digital 3-D world of Second Life. I served as a juror for the Second Life work; collaboratively developed the show concept, call and organization
with three other volunteers; and wrote the curatorial statement.

Relic. This
invitation-only show was held in conjunction with ArtworkSF at the group’s
commercial gallery in San Francisco, CA. I developed the concept and selected
artwork. ArtworkSF developed the installation plan and hung the work.

Surface Tension. A
solo show of my photo, video, video installation, sound, and mixed media work
held in October 2006 at the JFKU Arts & Consciousness Gallery. I was fully responsible for all aspects of the exhibition,
ranging from work selection to installation to lighting to designing the promotional
card. (Now THAT’S an education!)

Peripheral Vision: Lens-based
Art from Margin to Center. This juried exhibition of lens-based art at
the JFKU Arts & Consciousness Gallery took place in May 2005, and featured work by a dozen artists
from the student/faculty community. I served as a juror, lead organizer, and
collaboratively developed the installation plan with other members of the JFKU
Photographic Arts Group.
